What Kinds of Notifications Does TikTok Provide?

Notifications are one of the many services and features available on TikTok. Unlike other social media networks, you can choose which activities you want to be notified about and turn off notifications for those you don't want to hear about.

Let's start with TikTok's notifications:

  • Likes
  • Comments
  • New Subscribers
  • Mentions
  • Messages from the Heart
  • New videos from the people you follow
  • Videos that have been recommended
  • Recommendations for LIVE Video

TikTok Notifications: How to Enable Them?

To begin, make sure your TikTok alerts are turned on. There are a handful of places to check out. We'll teach you how to ensure sure the TikTok app's notifications are switched on. Then we'll show you how to make sure they're switched on on your Android or iOS phone.

Follow these instructions to use the TikTok application:

  1. Tap the 'Profile' icon in the lower left-hand corner. Then, in the upper right corner, touch on the three horizontal lines.
  2. On the following page, look for 'Push notifications' under 'Settings & privacy.'
  3. Turn on the 'Push notifications' feature.
  4. Check your phone's notifications if all of your notifications are turned on. Swiping down from the top of the screen on an Android device will bring up the 'Apps' option.
  5. After that, go to TikTok and tap on 'Notifications.' Check to see whether it reads 'Allowed.'

TikTok alerts may now be viewed in the Settings app for iOS users. After tapping on 'TikTok,' go to 'Notifications.' Toggle the 'Allow Notifications' switch to the green position.

What Happens If Notifications Don't Work?

You'll be notified whenever this user uploads a new video. But what if you've turned on this feature, but it doesn't work?

Here are a few alternative solutions.

Updates that are pending

For pending updates, go to the Google Play Store or the App Store. After a few missed updates, an app may start to bother you.

Notifications from TikTok are not permitted.

Make sure your push notifications are turned on in the app's notification settings.

Phone Notifications are not permitted.

Check your phone's notification settings to determine whether you may get notifications from TikTok. Disable the Feature and Retry. Please turn off the post notifications option on the targeted user's profile, then turn it back on. It might have been a one-time glitch. Try it with some other profiles to ensure this functionality is working.

Reinstall the Application

In certain circumstances, reinstalling the TikTok app might assist. It's possible that a glitch occurred during installation, causing some of the app's functions to malfunction.

TikTok May be Unavailable

You should be patient if this is the case. Post alerts and other features might not be working on your phone because of this.

Checking TikTok's Notification Settings

Here's a quick tip on how to see if your notifications are turned on. Start with the app's notification settings before moving on to the next troubleshooting step. To get started, simply follow these simple steps:

  • Open the TikTok app on your smartphone.
  • Tap 'Profile' in the lower right corner of the Home screen.
  • After you've opened your profile, click the three horizontal lines in the upper right corner and scroll down to 'Settings and privacy.'
  • Select 'Push notifications' from the Content & Activity area.
  • Toggle the toggle for each interaction you wish to be notified about. The toggle becomes green when it's turned on.
  • In this area, you may choose what you want to be notified about, such as new Likes, Comments, Followers, Mentions, Direct Messages, and more.
  • If you change your mind and wish to turn off the notifications, repeat the steps above, but in the last step, switch the toggle to the opposite side.
  • On your smartphone, enable notifications.

It's not always the app interfering with your alerts; sometimes, it's an issue with your phone.

If you have TikTok notifications turned on, do the following:
